Hands On Project:

Your school has been using Outlook or Apple's Mail program for many years, and you are a pro. Now the school has switched to Gmail. What features are available in Gmail compared with other mail programs? How does Gmail differ from server based email systems? Your tasks:
  • Find someone in the room you do not know well, then exchange names and email addresses with your partner. (Note all APS email addresses follow the same format.)
  • Send an email message to your partner that includes one gmail feature you like, and one question you have about gmail.
  • Create a label called "Gmail Tips" and apply it to the email from your partner.
  • Mark one message from last week with a red star from your mail index screen. (access characters from the mail settings menu)
  • Mark one message from last week with a question mark.
  • Create a filter to skip your inbox and apply a label to an email you receive regularly (perhaps from Younkers, Michael's, or Living Social).
  • Create a label for mail from your principal.
